I own a ecoboost. My work truck is a 5.0. I find the eco is a bit finicky, (loss of power/inconsistent fuel economy etc). The 5.0 is very consistent for me, great on fuel and great v8 sound. my 2 cents.

MPG will be the same with either engine after your mods. From there you need to decide if forged internals, turbo hiss and way higher torque at lower RPM fits your driving style, or a engine you need to rev higher, but sounds better (5.0)

Go with the Coyote. I've owned a lot of trucks over the years an the 5.0 is the best motor I've ever had.

From what everyone's said so far, it appears that the only reason there is to buy a 5.0 is the "manly awesome sound bro" and the 5.0 isn't a better choice for what he's doing, they're equal for being a daily driver.. Lololol

So I'm curious....if you're planning to add drag to the truck (heavier, taller tires, higher off the ground = more wind drag) why WOULDN'T you want more torque better throttle response, as you've indicated you observed?

As has been outlined 1,000,000 times already...the decision is down to personal preference. Are you an old-school V8 guy? 5.0 for you. Do you embrace new technology and like the torque of a turbo engine? EcoBoost for you.

Good luck, and post pictures once you get your truck!!!
