Default Heater Temp Control **** Noise?

Has anyone noticed your heater temperature control **** making a noise when turning the temp down? Mine makes a noise that sounds like a sick duck or maybe a fart noise made b squeezing air from behind your top lip. It also makes the noise in any temp position as soon as you turn the key to start the truck. All functions of the heater are fine, I just hope this isn't an early warning sign of a bad temp control or something??

My fan moans on low, thought it was the engine at first until I shut the heater off one day.

My noise isn't the fan, it's the actuator that adjusts the temp. It only does it when I turn the temp from hot to cold (and start up) Cold to hot is silent.

I just had mine replaced. I found out that its a common problem for our trucks.

Mine was stuck on cold eventually. It requires the dash to be taken apart somewhat to access a small electric motor that controls the temperature and is giving you a sign that its about to fail.

I had a local shop I trust do it for $300 ($230 is labor)

Dealer wanted over $500

As of now, I don't notice this issue, but is this something I should be on the look out for? I have 44k on the truck now. I did notice that yesterday that I had the **** on cold without ac and the air temp out of the vent was 78. The outside air temp was 62. I would think that it should be the roughly the same temp. Later that night I switched it hot just to see how hot the air would get out of vents. It got to 160. The ac may not be very good, but the heater works great.

I forgot to add that my temp control started to make noise when I would change the temp. Not really loud or annoying but I did notice it when the radio was off.

I also had 112K miles on my 2010 when I had it replaced.

I started having noise issues with temp control when set to it's lowest setting. Almost like a gear slipping or a loud clicking noise. Temp still works. Sometimes when I turn it to high then to low severel times quickly it will stop. Now just recently my fan is making an almost squealing noise. Whole damn thing has me pissed off. 2011 SCREW EcoBoost

What's the current mileage on your truck, sluggo33? I suggest reaching out to your local dealer regarding this concern; they'll best be able to diagnose. Please let me know how things progress.

Brittany, I currently have about 56,000 miles. It started about 45,000. Also another issue just croped up. Interior panel lights stay dim and won't adjust up using the push button under the light control **** until I turn the headlights off then they go to the bright setting that I have them set at. Sometimes they will go to bright setting all by themselves while I'm driving. Sounds like I have major electrical issues.
