Default Surprise my manifolds are Leaking also...

Since they are leaking, I'm going to fix them.
Manifolds are rather rusty and flaky.
Since I'm going to fix them why not upgrade?
Since I'm going to upgrade all I can find are . . .

Gibson Ceramic Shorty headers
Flowmaster Scavanger 814226 Ceramic headers

Any others? Problems with either?
Found a shop to swap them for around $200 a side.

I've had them install my Flowmaster Mufflers on 3 different vehicles, they noticed my leaking exhaust pointed it out to me. A week or so later I stopped by to inquire about them installing Flowmaster Scavenger Headers. Quoted per side cash. They even told me what a pain they are.

Fingers Crossed it goes well!

Cool, did you get the ceramic headers ? I notice my manifolds are starting to flake . Just a matter of time... do you happen to have any pics?
Thanks

Not Great Pictures, all I have right now.

Flowmaster 1-5/8 in. Scavenger Series Elite Shorty Headers (04-10 5.4L)
Manufacturer Part Number - 814226

As per FlowMaster-
Ceramic Coating. These Headers are completed in Flowmaster's Silver Ceramic Coating that not only looks great, but reduces under hood temperatures to help increase horsepower and extend the life of the headers. Ceramic Coated headers will long out last both chrome plated and polished headers.

This Vacation I'll be spending some time pimping my Engine. My Engines have NEVER looked this neglected.

First off a good cleaning then... A lot of degreaser, belt and hose replacements, painted touch-ups, F-4 tape & Zip-ties...

IMO buy the headers that have the thickest flanges, heavy flanges go along way in keeping leaks to a minimum

I wonder what gains I would see with those with the sc... I will probably upgrade to headers once my manifolds rot out or start leaking.

So I was wondering how these are working out for you? Working great? Any complaints?
I might be getting some soon...
