Going down the road I started to wonder did I go overboard because this system really unleashes the sound. Thursday I took a couple hundred mile trip and driving in town at low rpms it really growls, at higher rpms while accelerating it sounds like a wild banshee unleashed and runs like it too. Everyone will hear you coming and going. Sometimes it almost feels like I lost a little pep in the low rpms, but I can't tell for sure yet because the speedo seems to climb faster than before? Almost like the pedal is looser and the higher flow makes getting the power smoother vs the snappy way it was delivered before. Time will tell, but gears are the next step in the build. Took my brother for a spin to show it off and it chirped hard shifting from 3-4 at wot, which was new. Freeway speed has a slight drone, but I can still hear the tires humming too - I think the sound reverberates in the cab because with a window cracked the tones change and don't rattle my ears like it does at certain rpms with the windows closed. Definitely louder than anticipated, but i have no regrets.
Exactly what I was looking for. Can u give me some specs in truck? Engine, exhaust etc? I have magnaflow sido exhaust, and did the resonator delete, which increased the sound quite a bit. Wondering if I'm gonna need to put it back in?!!
Do u have the truck tuned yet? Which sw headers did u go with and who'd u order from? Thanks.

It's less than 10lb/ft of torque in a very small rpm window.

2013, 5.0, stainless works full exhaust motor to tips (1 7/8 headers with off-road stainless works performance exhaust), AFE intake and 93 race tune from 5 star. Had the same tune before the SW exhaust, but had it modified for the offroad headers and exhaust. I bought the system directly from SW and they installed them (free for military/vets).

It was recommended by 5 star that I go with the 1 3/4 headers, but my end plan is to get a supercharger in the future, so I stuck with the 1 7/8. They also wanted to make sure there was no emissions testing and such where I live since I went with the off-road (catless). I think this gives it a little more raspy metallic pitch at certain rpms and you can also smell the exhaust much more without the cats when parked, but nothing bad.

You are chirping 4th gear at 100 mph on a 5500 lb truck??? Sorry but I am calling b.s. on that...

What he said. I'm way over that torque and power range and it's not chirping over that high of gear range.

Call it what you want, no reason for me to sling bs. We looked at each other like wtf, was that for real. Maybe it was the pavement or something on the road, who knows. It was dark, damp, and 35 degrees out. The point of all of the writing was to simply give someone my candid observations.

Thank you. That helped a lot. What are the differences in running catted vs cat less headers?
Never mind everybody else, somebody always has to chime in and talk crap.

It's logic and physics bud. There are a couple good threads in the how to section on exhaust, scavenging, etc.
