Default Head unit swap/SYNC NAV unit

Has anyone had any luck replacing their sync nav double din head unit seamlessly with an aftermarket unit and retain all features & functions?

I'm so sick of the microcrap system & with no chance of further updates and a warranty that will expire in 2 years, why keep fighting a losing battle...

Kenwood makes several great head units that do everything the stock system does, only better.

I recommend Kenwood as well if you're going aftermarket. Especially a model with the built-in Garmin Navigation. Or you could go for a tablet setup (iPad/etc). I'm getting ready to put on in my truck. You'll have everything with that (navigation, internet, music, videos, email, you name it).

I did before I made this thread, seems no one has done the touch sceen yet, or that I could find.

Any model numbers you guys recommend? Kenwood only? I just updated my sirrius travel link so I'd like to incorporate that.

I had a Kenwood DNX570HD with Maestro and a Kenwood DNX890HD with Maestro in my other F-150. See here:

and

Both work great and, especially the 890, have a lot of features. In the end I switched to an OEM unit. I just put an OEM unit in my current truck. Why.....I like the looks better and the overall integration.
