2011 FX2. I took truck in for an issue I had with windshield wipers. Wipers would not turn off after I turned them on. That issue got resolved. However, I noticed when I turn them on now my headlights turn on (This is when I have them on automatic dusk to dawn setting if not they will not turn on). So on automatic setting my headlights will turn on during the day, full sun when I turn windshield wiper on. The dealer says this is normal, the truck thinks it is raining so lights turn on. ????? I really don't remember that happening before. Maybe I didn't notice. Any of you guys notice this on your truck or am I getting BSed.

 

They are not BS-ing you. That is a feature if you have automatic or rain sensing wipers (law in several states is if using the wipers, your headlights should be on). From the manual : "Windshield wiper rainlamp feature (if equipped with autolamp)--
"When the windshield wipers are turned on during daylight, and the headlamp control is in the autolamp position, the exterior lamps will turn on after a brief delay and will remain on until the wipers are turned off."

Yep, normal.

I didn't notice it until I started using the fogs more. During the day the dash lights don't light but headlights do, then when using fogs the little indicator came on.
