Ok so I just successfully registered on syncmyride.com. It tells me that my sync has never been updated and I have version 4.1.4.T from June 28, 2012. Would it be a bad idea to upgrade to 4.4?

Thanks again every one. I'm on 4.4 now so I'm not sure what the dealer and his 3 hours is talking about. When the 4.5 comes out I'll upgrade myself.

Glad it worked out... I'd avoid that dealer like the plague if I were you. Doesn't exactly build trust with claims like that!

How is 4.4 treating you? Any issues? They only things I found with a quick Google search were posted on a mustang forum and they were issues from July-Sept then it seemed like Ford pulled the 4.4 down to address so of the issues those people were posting about. Would it be safe to assume that if 4.4 is available it is now a stable version? I really want bluetooth resume upon restart and artist and song info displayed via Bluetooth.

If you have nav I bet the dealer was talking about map update. That takes about 3 hours. I did mine earlier this year.

Upgraded mine in late October or November via USB, took like 15 minutes.

The only on-going issue is using the phone over bluetooth. It will place or end the call by itself, then re-dial by itself. It's very random and who knows if that can be diagnosed by a Ford Technician.

When update my sync I will unhook the battery for 15 min after it is done. I have had some issues which after reset requires the hard reset for all phone issues tone fixes. Plus it also fixed my Nav getting lost

I know this doesn't apply to me. I have MFT which is version 3.8. I just wanted to say that I've had one map upgrade during the couple updates I've done.
It still only took, at most a half hour.
That dealer was trying to stick it to him. No question.

Hey everyone!

I'm unable to speculate on an actual release date, but our team is actively working on something new. Periodically check your Owner account for the download: https://owner.ford.com/tools/account...p-to-date.html Most updates can take up to 30 minutes.

Is this an update that can be performed when the vehicle is moving?
