I realize this is an old thread, but I discovered this today...

Why have a menu item if you they are just going to override it every time you start the truck? Hauled a dirt bike for the first time today. Lots of in and out, backing, parking, restarting. It seems like if I want to turn off my sensors and keep them off, it damn well should let me!

I bet you could rig a 7-pin plug with some resistors to simulate a trailer load and stick it in when driving with the tailgate down, but it seems stupid to have to do that. Plus it probably will also then put the truck into all the trailer stability modes when you don't want it...

thats only if you hit reset while in reverse, if you find and disable it in the settings menu it will stay disabled.

That's what I expected, but not what happens on mine...
  • go into menu,
  • disable backup sensor
  • exit menu.
As many times as I go back in to the menu option before a restart, it shows as off.

But turn the key off/on, and it forgets the setting and goes back to the on setting. I assumed it wasn't functioning correctly till I saw the post above.

Can you verify that yours keeps the off status after a key cycle?

Go into setting and when you come to it there are 2 boxes. 1 will say On and 1 will say Off. scroll to Off and press OK and that will turn it off permately. To turn it back on go back and check ON.

There is a fuse, but it also is for the 4wd switch and the backup camera.

That only works one time. Restart the truck and it is back on.
