The recall is only for 2011-2013 F150s. https://www.trucks.com/2019/02/13/fo...ission-defect/
My 2014 was built 11/2013 had the same issue and not included in the recall.

Did you end up fixing yours? My truck has been at the dealership since Tuesday and no word yet
edit dealership called and said all kinds of codes says electric power steering gear is out of wack at says $2400.00 to fix

I say I didn't see any codes and everything points to lead frame issue. Asked him just for a quote to change lead frame says he needs until Monday to price it out

I have a 2014 and it's ok....I do have a rough bang into reverse every now and then. Don't know why it does that ! Feels like it will damage something.

This thread makes me nervous.

2014 here with 125k miles and no issues... knock on wood. Just had the trans flushed too.

They don't all have the issue, and currently Ford covers it under extended coverage, for 10 years old or i think 100k or 150k miles.
Had my 2011 Super Crew in for a right rear latch replacement and oil change. I spoke with the Service manager about the lead frame, He told me that I had until 150,000 miles. He suggested bringing in the truck before 140,000 and he would change the lead frame and do a transmission fluid and filter change all under warranty.

I think it's ten years or 150k, whichever is first. But that's great if they'll do that for you as I believe they are supposed to have codes present first, maybe I should see if my local place would do the same.

My truck was still under warranty w/ 28K miles and the 2017 that I ordered came in before I could get it fixed. So the dealer took it in trade and fixed it under warranty.

The service manager said”I would enter a code and do the warranty replacement and change the fluid and filter at the same time”
I’m guessing that’s the code you’re referring to?

Yeah im betting so.

Ford's stance is perform the software update first, if the truck exhibits the downshift issue, check for the valid code in the computer and then perform the service.

I'll have to see, as I'd really like to have this done before the time limit expires. But I doubt many places would do it without the code being present.
