Default Hard transmission shift

Does anyone else have a harsh shift between 1st and 2nd gear? It seems to happen more to me after I've been using tow/haul. It usually happens if I'm driving in a parking lot and slow down for a speed bump then when I start to accelerate it is slams into gear. Almost feels like someone rear ended me. It has also happened in slow moving traffic.

I had it checked when I was at the dealership for my engine tick, but they couldn't find anything anyone had this issue and had it fixed?

Mine shifts a bit hard sometimes at low mph and when I am barely on the throttle. Only happens after I coast for a bit(low MPH) and then give barely any throttle input. It is weird and not sure if the ECM just doesn't have enough input due to the lack of throttle input. Some guys have brought their trucks to the dealer and have had their drive train re-lubricated.

This describes my issue EXACTLY. I want to take it to the dealer, but I don't know what to tell them. I really don't want to have any mechanical work done and have something become even worse on a Truck with less than 1k miles.

Same here. I might bring it up on my first oil change visit and see if I can get them to re-lubricate the drive line??

I also have this problem. I read on a different forum site that Ford has a TSB out about this but I haven't really been able to take it any further. The dealership test drove it and said everything felt normal but it's hard to replicate the worst shifting on demand like that.

There is a TSB for this. I don't know what the TSB# is. I had it done to my 2011. It involved them tearing the transmission apart and replacing the C-clutches.

Good luck. Took them 17 days to do mine.

Riccochet, do you have any info on the TSB the # and possibly a copy of it? Did the TSB fix the issue or is it not worth having them tear the tranny apart?

I dropped mine off about an Hour ago. The dealership I go to has a "Drop-Off" bay with out 5 people who do all the processing then about 15 service bays, so I never really get to talk with the techs. The processing guy said he knew there was an update out that addressed this issue and would let me know if that is what they do to it.

I'm also having them look at my skid plate that keeps coming loose and having the AC checked (just in case it's a little low)

Wasn't a TSB, it was an SSM #21927
