Yeah...I'm thinking that calling the Car2u guy is the way to go. I plan on calling them this Saturday and getting this knocked out.

This is only a 2 year old thread but after having troubles of my own I found this video and it outlined an additional step that was not in the manual and got my doors working so I thought I would share!

The problem people have is mainly with the Car2U system and not with the homelink. I'm familiar with homelink and would love to have one. Like several other in this thread I have a Linear garage door opener and am not able to get it to work. Have an E-mail in and am guessing I'll end up with the adapter.

Hey everyone, I just got a response from the Car2U guys about my 2012 platinum not being able to open my Linear garage door opener. They gave me a LONG set of steps, but it worked perfectly. Please find it below and good luck!

You must be at the gate or garage door opener for programming.

1. Press the two outer buttons for 1 long second and release. All LEDS
will stay on.

2. Press the left and center button at the same time for 2 long seconds
and release. All three red lights will remain solid.

3. Press and release the left button 3 times. You will need to enter a
random 3 digit FC and 5 digit TX ID (Example: 000, 12345) using
middle (M) and right(R) buttons. Right button always locks in the
middle presses. “0” equals right button press. Press and release:

FC = R x 3
TX ID = M x 1- R x 1, M x 2- R x 1, M x 3- R x 1, M x 4- R x 1, M x 5- R x 1.

4. Press all three buttons at the same time for 2 long seconds and release.
All three LEDS will blink 2 to 3 times and then go out.

5. Press and hold the left button for 2 long seconds and release. The
lights will blink 2 to 3 times and go out.

You will need two people for the next step: (I did this part solo)

1. Press and release the program button on the gate/garage door opener.
The gate/garage door opener will only stay in programming mode for
5 seconds.

2. Lower the visor 20 degrees. Press and hold the left button on the Lear
Car 2U. The LED on the gate/garage door opener will flicker
indicating successful programming. Immediately release the button.

3. Next attempt should operate the door. Hold programmed button for 2
to 3 seconds, you may hear a click from the garage door opener or
gate first. You may also need to lower the visor for increased range.

If this is a Community Gate, you may need to contact the HOA to get an
existing 5 digit remote ID or obtain from another remote. There may or may
not be a 3 digit FC. If not, you can use the random (000) for this part of
programming.

So now I can finally take my damned garage door opener out of the truck and use the visor as intended. very happy.

then you would have the homelink variant that is shown in the video a few posts up. the Car2U version that seems to be the problem child sadly is not so convenient.

Thanks for posting, this is the ONLY procedure out of many I’ve tried that worked on my 14 expedition with a linear GDO.

The only part missing was to jump up and down on one foot while rubbing your stomach and patting your head! Rediculous!
