Default Hard 1-2 shift

My dad has a 2010 supercab 4.6. Ever since he got it the tranny didnt feel right and we talked tonthe dealer about it and tey said it was normal. First to second gear really seems to bang. After driving my 2011 5.0 and going to that thing i reallllly notice it. Theres no way this can be normal. Anyone else experience this?

Theres inly 10,000 on the truck and he bought it new its been babied since

2010 FX4 45k miles two reflashes and still a hard 1-2 shift I'm guessing its just the way this tranny was built. I have learned to live with it.

I've experienced same issues. Bought brand new. Keep taking it to dealer they will eventually fix or replace. They replaced the tranny in a friends 2010 xlt

I have a 2007 Edge (classified as a Ford truck for whatever reason) with the same kind of issue, but I have not seen many complaints in the F150 forum. I have not looked to see if the same tranny is used. There are several complaints from the early model years. The dealer flashed the PCM twice with no noticeable effect. Just passed 71K miles and no apparent transmission issues. I noticed that if you get the vehicle just rolling, then shift into Neutral and goose the throttle (think double-clutch, if you ever drove a manual transmission, especially without synchronizers), then plop it back into Drive, there is no problem.

I had the trans replaced in my 2010 4x4 screw 4.6 3v at 19000 miles and I still get the hard up shift from time to time, but no where near as often, I defiantly get the 2 to1 slip bump all the time though
