Looking at grilles for my fx4. Like the smittybilt but I've heard negatives on the install. Anyone got any recommendations? I like the fuel and thought it would go nice with my fuel wheels but the price is steep.
This is my grill craft. easy install. do have to cut your original grill but its super easy with a dremel. check out the grill craft site for installation instructions to see if you're up to it. I know there is a place online.. e auto grilles or something to that affect that sells whole grille and cover. whatever you feel like doing, there seems to be a solution for all price points
I went with the e-Auto grilles 8mm billet, in gloss black. Really fits in with the painted bumper on my FX4. Also makes the truck look a little wider because it goes from end to end. The stock grille had uprights that made the front end look skinny.
It was a complete assembly, including the gloss black surround. Installation was simple, just unbolt the entire grille assembly and bolt in the new one.
It also cost something like $210.
I also replaced the chrome trimmed heads and tails from the 09 FX4 to newer black trimmed FX4/Harley heads and tails.

I just did the smittybilt grille. love the look. fits like ****. not impressed with the fact that it didn't fit properly. I had to either trim more of the grille then required or send it back and wait weeks to get a replacement only to have a 50/50 chance of it fitting the same way. and in the meantime I'd have a giant opening in my grill for **** to take the rad out. so as you can see I trimmed more of the grille. I'd recommend another brand of grille not this one

Same opinion with my Smittybilt. Didn't fit worth chit, but already had it, so made it work. I'd have looked into the Fuel or TRex a little more knowing what I know now...
