Default GPS Mounts - How to keep them stuck to the windshield?

Anyone have suggestions for keeping a GPS stuck to the windshield? I have a Garmin Nuvi and the suction cup doesn't seem to hold for more than a few hours! Should I get a new on or maybe glue the suction cup to the windshield (clear RTV maybe?) What should I do?

It is a hardwired GPS and never needs to leave it's mounting spot so permanent is fine!

First its not legal in some states to stick it to the windshield but if you must then smear a little KY jelly on the suction cup it will help.
I took a piece of 1/2 thick rubber mat and cut it to fit the package tray on top of the dash, made a bracket that placed my Garmen just above the AC vent and bolted it to the rubber mat routed the power cord to lighter socket just below and plugged it in the mat is heavy enough that it doesn't move and if I want to remove it I just lift it off and unplug it

I've used the Proclip mounts and they work fine.

I'd really like to find a way to mount it to the driver's side A pillar (low, next to the dash)

I switched to friction mounts after getting stopped and warned that windshield mounts were illegal in Vermont and about 60% of the other states. It hasn't come off the windshield since.

But is it stable? Seems that it may be top heavy and wobble around while driving??

I wasn't aware of that one when I got the bean bag type. Read the reviews to see what others have to say. So far, mine has stayed where I put it.

The exo looks interesting.

I am a HUGE fan of ram mounts. Some of the toughest strongest kits out there, we use them a lot at work to hold electronics when out firefighting and such, and I have used them extensively on my snowmobiles mounting my GPS to the hood to tell where I am at in the mountains. I have rolled my sled multiple times and broke hoods etc, but the GPS is always there and in perfect condition.
