Good Toggle switch locations?

The switch did not have a nut... it had two prongs that "clipped" into the dash. But, you may be able to reach up under there if you need to, or even take the trim off. Most trim is held by a couple clips and maybe a screw

Hmmm... wonder if two of those little switches would fit side by side in that spot...

What scares me is I don't know what's behind the plastic... might end up drilling into some kind of support and making a mess... Wish there was some guide somewhere that showed out to take that piece of plastic loose. I looked and didn't see any screws. I'm real hesitant to drill into something that I don't know how to remove and replace if I mess it up...

I want to install a couple switches next to the A/C on/off, Recirculate buttons on the center console (areas tagged in red). Anybody know if there are factory switches I can re-purpose for this?
