Default Going over payload

I have a 2010 Screw 4x4 with max tow.I believe it has a payload capacity sticker at 1770. I need to go pick up an order of flooring and from my calculations it will weight 1820 pounds, so total cargo+people will be roughly 2000 pounds. The flooring store is 50 miles from my house.. I don't know if I should just load it up and get it home or make two trips.

What do the collective minds say?

You will be fine - just remember that you're heavily loaded and adjust your braking, turning and speed accordingly.

I emptied out 7.7 tons of metal this summer, heaviest load was 1,943 pounds. Drove max of 45 mph, 15 miles. No issues.

^^^^ and inflate the tires to max pressure rating. Put the load as close to the cab as possible.

don't chance it, grab a rental trailer for 4 hours and that should suffice.

I've had over 2500 lbs in my truck...take it slow

I'm sure there are people that do not take passenger weight into account
I'm equally sure that if I have 6 people in the truck that weigh 170 lbs each that I can put more then 1000 lbs in the bed without a problem

As soon as you go 1lb over max. your ***** will fall of, at least that is some posters opinion. Load it up and take it home, it won't make one lick of a difference.

Until there is a situation that you can't avoid and get into an accident. (I hope this never happens to anyone.) Now the other person involved, actually their attorney will have a field day and your insurance (hopefully you have insurance) will be writing a check. In this sue happy world you unfortunately have to take things into account like this. I'm not saying that the truck won't handle the load, I'm saying to look at a bigger picture.

True but that will happen regardless of the load.
