Default Ghost glow after LED conversion?

I converted all my interior lights to LED's but now the rear dome light glows faintly after the lights dim out. It does go off after about 10 minutes but why is this happening? I used a 42mm Festoon with 8 SMD LED's in the dome light. Looks great at full power but the ghost glow concerns me! Is this normal?

Yes it is normal...lots of people's lights do that! Keep the ones you have because you will be spending on bulbs you don't need to spend. Mine do it as do many people I have read about.

What isn't made in China these days? LOL...

I also got front map light bulbs, cargo light bulbs and reverse light bulbs and they work great! I love the 6K bright white color!

I don't think it is a problem as they do go out after 10 minutes and LED's use almost no power! But I thought I read about this being a common issue before?

Lots of LEDs do because of the lack of power required for them to be on is much less than the power that's normally going to them.

Don't worry about it

You stated in your orignal post that it concerns you...cheap LED's do this..I agree with you that it's probably not an issue...my american made LED's do not do this...

I was concerned but I guess it is ok as stated by other members. I don't really have the disposable cash to buy higher priced LEDs so I don't mind the ghostglow as long as it isn't hurting anything...

I haven't even seen US made LED's...do they exist? The best rated ones I saw were Samsung but very high priced.

There is residual current in the cct. With higher wattage LEDs, it drained the current much faster so the ghost disappeared once I went to high watt ones.
