I bought an add a fuse from Autozone that has long legs so it will reach the terminals, but my cover didn't fit back on afterwards.. so I cut a notch into the cover and reinstalled it. Easy peasy

I just ordered a G pad today. Free from Verizon so I will have on-board data. I am no stranger to rooting android devices so this should be fun setting it up when it gets here (backorderd). Have you had any issues, or have any tips? I noticed on Metra they have a few different options for the dash kit. Which one did you go with? do you have a picture of it installed in the truck? Did you put the tablet into a sleeve, how did you mount the tablet to the dash kit? sorry for all the questions and thank you for the answers.

I went with the matte black dash kit, I felt it matched the interior of my xlt better than the gloss black. I used L brackets like most others on here, no sleeve. It's in there solidly and does not come out easily. For rooting, the g pad took me 10x longer than it needed to. Most of the tutorials online only work with 4.2.2 and do not work with the 4.4.2 OTA update. If you have the update, use the latest version if ioroot. If you do not, the kingo root will work.

Thanks. I did look around and one review said that rooting wasn't the easiest.

Very nice, I think I may have to get a G pad.

I just wrapped a wire around the fuse and stuck it back in. Works fine since I decided to do the install at 2am. Also ended up taking apart the car charger and soldering the wires to it as opposed to using an extended outlet. Hot to fuse and ground to frame.

I used a mini fuse. Worked perfect. Did you check to make sure you are on the protected side of the fuse? Or do you have a fuse inline to the charger?

Hey guys! My tablet is losing 30-35% battery power each night. I have Tasker timing out the display, killing the running apps(although they still show in recent apps when I start up in the AM), turning bluetooth and wifi off. Any ideas what it could be? If the truck sits for more than a couple days it dies.
