Think the AT2 is the old tread pattern for the BFG AT TA/KO, they just sold it to General. All the ppl I have known who ran it were very happy.

I run the AT2 35x12X18 for a winter tire. Its wearing very well, and is pretty quiet on the highway. Quieter then my summer tire (Toyo MT) I did have a problem with one of the tires though, i though it was a balancing problem (steering wheel shook above 45mph) had it road force balanced and everything. Nothing worked, then i had all 4 tires warrantied out for brand new ones. After that it drove like it was on glass...smooth up to 95

I hear alot of good things about them, i am looking at getting the Grabbers. A few people have said they wear fast, but others say the wear good, i dont know which is right as long as the tire dont fall apart i am whilling to try just about any thing. The price is not that bad.

I had the General Grabber's on my 02. They were very crappy tires. I had to replace them as they did not pass state inspection after they only had 10k mileage on them. Furthermore, they always produced a "hard ride" in my opinion. In terms of tires I would highly recommend Michelin LTX2 or Pirelli Scorpian. You will pay a bit more up front but value and safety behind these is phenomenal. I have the LTX2's on my 2010 Explorer Eddie Bauer and would give them an A++. Best of Luck!

The Generals that came on my '04 F150 didn't get very good mileage at 28,000 miles.

I have the exact set up you are looking at. I have 9500 miles on mine and am happy with them. I ran them on my last truck with good results too. I wanted the BFGs but the Grabbers were about $40 cheaper each with a similar patter. Now though they are the same price or more so I would get the BFGs for the same money. The only thing about the Grabbers is that they are harder to balance.

You do realize that General makes ALOT of diffrent tires, and a good amount of diffrent GRABBER tires. 2 years ago their HTS Grabber tire beat out almost every other tire in their category. Their AT2 Grabbers are a good tire for the price....as long as you rotate them as suggested earlier, and kept to proper inflation...but then again that goes true for ALL tires. If i didnt rotate your LTX2's or keep them properly inflated, i know i could wear them out in a few thousand miles too. Alot of a tires performance depends on the individuals maintenece of them. Tire rack is a decent place to look for reviews of tires by everyday ppl, but you hav to take them with a grain of salt, just like the advice you get on forums b/c not everyone out there knows how to properly take care of their equipment, therfore giving it a bad review, when in actuality its not the product at fault
