Default FX4 rear drop

Hey guys....I have a 2013 FX4 and was considering dropping only the rear to get it level or close to it. I'm assuming that requires a drop shackle kit? If so, what is the kit of choice? What sort of drop am I looking at...2"? I have 275/70-18 tires so Im assuming clearance in the rear wont be an issue.

How does a drop shackle kit work? What can I expect to spend for the parts and labor?

I searched the "leveled" thread and saw mention of drop shackles.

Thanks.

I think drop shackles would be for lowering it more than the approximately 2" needed to get it level. I am not certain of this, but I believe you could simply remove the factory block in the rear and be very close to level. I'm sure others will chime in.

I just installed the Bilstein 5100s at 1.5" of lift in the front to get me closer to level. I didn't consider setting them at .75" and looking for a 1" shorter block for the rear. In hindsight, that might be a path worth some thought if you aren't looking to set your truck up much.

Yes, you can raise the height in the front with these: http://shop.tapautoparts.com/bilstei...i-1792517.aspx

There are some other brands out there that do the same.

More info on the Bilstein 5100:

Does this negatively affect the handling or ride?

Just remove the blocks as the others have mentioned, it's like a free leveling kit and has no adverse effects. Mine looks and rides great.

I took my rear blocks out two years ago, no effects on handling and levelled it out nice and even.
