Default FX4 6.2 Warranty Coming to an End

My "new to me" 2013 FX4 6.2 warranty is nearing the end of it's time. Haven't done anything to is with exception of front 5100 struts. Runs and works great (let's not talk about Sync and the iPhone though)... Anyway, I plan to ask the dealer to do a "check up" on it just prior to the warranty expiration. With the (guessing here) well over 1,000 years combined experience on this forum, anything specific I should check?

Man...with all the grief that the 5.0 and 3.5 motors have had on these forums, you never hear about the 6.2. Perhaps I'm just not looking in the right places but it seems like the 6.2 is a pretty stout mill with no major issues....

Save your money if you haven't had any problems.

I say look into the raptor forums, may not have the same tune but it is still a 6.2?

My 2011 6.2 engine with 41k miles has been great and problem free, the rest of the truck, not so much. Here are things I've had issues with that maybe you want to check on yours:

Blown high pressure power steering hose (twice) - sprays all over when it goes...
Rear end LS clutch pack went out and had to be rebuilt
Transmission pump seal leak - transmission had to be pulled
Climate control module went out
Drive shaft slip bump (I just live with it and grease it at every oil change)

All of these issues can happen and do happen with other F150 engine models except for the power steering hose - 6.2 is hydraulic, all the others are electric.

Overall I'm still happy with my truck, just a lot of issues for such low miles.

So far the 6.2 itself seems to be a pretty stout engine.

Edit: I should add, all of these issues happened before I added a tune, level and larger tires.

Wink

I have an '11 Lariat that I special ordered in Oct.'10 wit the 6.2. I now have about 61,600 miles on her. It has been stellar. The issues I've had are what would be considered F150 related, not 6.2 related. Those being - (A) Just had the battery replaced again (First one was two years ago). (B) The back-up camera (was replaced under my extended warranty). (C) Front rotors warping (Doing a complete brake rotor and pad upgrade when the weather breaks). (D) Drive shaft "Slip/Bump" (Fixed under warranty/TSB recall?). That's it.

I have 40k on a 2012 6.2L F150. The first week I needed a backup camera fixed (it was a wire harness near the firewall) but the rest has been perfect....Sync not included, that system is garbage.

I would not worry about the 6.2L, if you have any nagging problems with the rest of the truck then I'd get in before the 3/36 is over.

Same here. I have never experienced an issue with a 6.2L. I have also look all over the web and can't find any 6.2L issues. It is is definitely a bulletproof, reliable engine.
