FX Appearance package wheels on my FX2
After some help on this forum (thanks), I was able to track down a set of
FX appearance package wheels. 12,000 miles no scratches for a very good price. Picked them up today and washed them and put em on. I had the OE
18 inch rims. These were definitely heavier. The real upside is that the offset is
lower so the wheels sit pretty flush with the fenders. Anyways, I really like these wheels. If I had the choice I would have got them from the start.
Anyways, am happy.
On a minus the black lug nuts I ordered were the wrong thread pitch. Not really sure why Ford doesn't use black nuts on these rims.
Also this tire wheel combo is actually 1/2 inches taller than the 18 inch setup. Hopefully wont mess with the speedo too much.

Those AR wheels look great! This color is tough. I'm caught between too much, or not enough. Supercharged, and full exhaust including header are on the way, but appearance wise the AP kit may be too much. One last graphic and I'm done.
I didn't weigh them but I'd say easily 10 pound difference. I used to work in a tire shop when I was younger, and definitely bridgestones are a heavier tire as well compared to michellin which were on the 18's. So in essence I guess you could say it was a downgrade but I really love the look. Once I wear out the oe michellins I'm going to put on some A/T tires to the 18's for winter use. Although here in CA, doesn't seem like we're gonna have a winter this year! We also had a 6.0 earthquake last night. Fun.

No worries. And your very right about heaviness being a real factor in performance. On my "race car" we calculated 17 inch wheels to be the optimum performance even if the 18 was the same weight. Due to rotational mass and the weight being further out. I'm pretty sure with this swap I lost about 10 hp.
Oh well.
Oh well.
