Default Fuse and relay kit

Hi all, i recently purchased an 11 XLT 4x4 offroad version. In the glove box was a baggie with a fuse and relay, the kit p/n is AL3T-15A416-AA.

After looking this kit up on Tacsa, it does not recognize the number. could anyone tell me if these are just spares, or if they are used to activate an installed feature?

Thanks in advance!

Search "fuse in glove box"

These are the fuse and the relay that powers the 'constant power' or 'battery charging' circuit on your 7-pin trailer connector. The relay goes in position #9 and the fuse goes in position #21 in the power distribution box (fuse box) in the engine compartment.

If you don't tow a trailer, or if the trailer you tow doesn't have a rechargeable break-away battery or other need for constant power, then you don't need to install them,.

No, it has nothing to do with the trailer brake controller. The TBC is powered by #37 in the passenger compartment fuse box and #17 in the engine compartment.

The TBC will work fine without the glove box fuse and relay installed.

thanks for the info guys.... it is strange that FORD doesnt just install them before the sale.... doesnt seem like it makes a difference to the truck itself either way.

thanks!
