Thumbs up Fuel usage per hour

I have heard so many conflicting reports about fuel mileage. What do you burn per hour. I would like to compare the 3.5L with the 3.7 L etal new motors and their usage per tank per hour. It will give me a better understanding. Just reset your trip clock after each fill and divide gallons purchased into hours driven. Thanks

In't there another factor in this such as how fast you drive during those
hours?

Doesn't matter to me. It is real hard to get above a 40 mph average during the lifetime of the car or truck unless you only drive Interstate. So I just want to hear what the per hour consumption is. No 2 drive exactly the same but by averaging out all the rigs by motor size it gives a final average per engine size. Don't care about the axle ratio. It all averages.:wh eelchair: My 2011 Ford F150 gave 12.5 gallons purchased and 9.5 hours driven/operating last fillup to start this thread. Driving cross town express and stop and go, no idle warm up times. Let's throw some more numbers out here please.

My 2011 Lariat Screw is averaging 18.8 mpg. for the first 3,000 miles. Assuming a 40 mph average, that works out to 2.13 gal/hour fuel consumption.

Total hours 303, total gallons 548 = 1.8 gph
(32.5 miles per engine hour lifetime average)

10-15% light towing

Alright, I had a 12 HP 48" lawn tractor that burned a gallon an hour mowing the yard. I rented a Uhaul that took $20 in gas every hour and that was back when gas cost less than $2 a gallon. :wheelchair :

Why do you want to know about hours driven? This isn't accurate. I get 5 weeks to a tank of gas. I'm pretty sure my fuel economy reading is wrong as it shows I only get 9 mpg, but I'm still getting around 800 kms to a tank city driving. 920 in the summer. I have a 3.7 4x4

Today I drove 4.5 hours and have used 1/4 tank of gas on 2 lane blacktop. I'll know my gal usage per hour when I next fill. Until then humor me. How many hours can you drive between fills. Don't care how you drive you still have to drive an Interstate at least 90% of the time to push your average speed above 40 mph since new. It would take months to get to average of 41 and 6 months more to get to 42 and another year to get to 43 and 2 more years to get to 44. So just give me your hours driven and miles driven= gallons per hour.:wh eelchair: If you want to participate. You appear to be able to drive around 15+ hours to the tank on average. My weather has been in the mid 50 F. here, so better gallons per hour average. It would appear the EB's are just above the 2 gal per hour average since new.

I filled up this morning total running time 19.75 hours, gallons put in the tank till totally full 24.83. 3.7 L. 3.73 axle. I think I might have got another hour out of it? I'm now at 31 hours of driving time in big city expressway and stop and go, on 25 gallons of Shell 87 octane. The truck is also 5 hours into the next tank and down 1/4 tank on the gauge. Mileage per gal reads 20.2. It's a 3.7L. with a 3.73 axle trailer tow option scab work truck with heavy winch.
