Default Fuel mileage

I bought a 2014 F150 that came from Canada. Does anybody know if the instant mpg is set to imperial mpg and if it s can it be reset to us mpg? May be a dumb question but my display reads 13.1 city and seems to be about 1or 2 mpg's less than my 2012 F150 with same equipment. 3.5 eco with Max tow.

I may be wrong, but mileage in Canada is measured as litres/100km, which makes me think that the number on your display is already set to USA.

Our Canadian trucks have both options. You can scroll through the display to find the settings>units. You can pick between metric and english.
Metric will be L/100kms .
English will be your MPG in US measurements.

Interesting, we picked up a Canadian Explorer Limited from a US dealer and had to have the speedo cluster changed out with one programmed by Ford. Someone (auction house) tried to shove a US speedo cluster in off the shelf, without programming, and the speedo mhp was off 10 - 13 mph. They probably did this to try and disguise that it was a Canadian vehicle. The avg. buyer would never know until you take it in for service. A large "Yellow" warning band shows up on the screen that the vehicle is Canadian.

I have set it to MPG, just don't know if the truck is calculating in Imperial MPG or US MPG

On the F150 they do an overlay of the speedo. This was done when the truck entered the US. I believe the dealer pays this fee to have it done after they purchase

When set to MPG it uses US gallons. Was the same on both my Grand Cherokees as well. Either L/100km or US MPG.

I enjoy that you get a warning light that it is a Canadian Vehicle. I hope a Canadian Goose sounding honking alarm noise also goes off.

"Warning: this vehicle came from a country that is the most like the USA outside of the USA! Small differences in culture and fashion will make you feel uneasy, like you stepped into another dimension. Eh.

yes it's in US mpg in the digital display.
As for the actual speedo, why would you do an overlay? Our speedo's have kms in big numbers and miles per hour in smaller numbers. Best of both worlds.

Because unlike every other country in the free world we americans hate the metric system and how it makes complete sense with its ease of use. We like doing everything the hard way. We want our MPH in big numbers please.

Door sticker has a maple leaf on it. This is the easiest way to tell it was made for the Canadian marketplace.
