Default Fuel Inlet

I am getting the following message: Check Fuel Fill Inlet. I have a 2013 STX with the capless fuel inlet. Would buying/using a cap solve this?

Regards.

Probably just didn't close all the way. Use your handy little white funnel that Ford designed to open the inlet and open and close it a few times and see if that fixes it.

I also give mine a good soaking rinse down cleaning with wd-40. You can do this as you work the funnel in/out.

I am having the same issue, but I have already done that with the funnel and the WD-40. No change in message. Do you have any other suggestions other than changing it at a cost of over $500?

I've had the same issue with my 2011 Ford Edge and tried the same things that you've done. I found that the problem was the Vapor Canister Purge Valve (VCPV) was leaking thru. After replacement I've had no more codes about small vacuum leaks or to check the gas fill. I know that this is not the Ford Edge Forum but I've also had VCPV issues with my 2011 F-150, 5.0 engine. I was hard starting after refueling and my gas mileage was low. The new valve fixed these problems.
It is easy to check the VCPV. Remove the hose and electrical connections from the valve, start the engine and place your finger over the valve nipple. If you feel vacuum, it's leaking. This is not a costly repair.

You should compare codes to see which it is. Not all point to the same thing.
