Default Fuel funnel

I haven't had to add fuel yet (still using the tankful the dealer gave me) but looking at this funnel for filling up and having to put it back under the back seat, isn't there going to be a smell of gasoline in the cab?. Thoughts?

Default You wont need it at the pump.

The funnel is for adding fuel from a gas can or to pour any additives in your tank, like injector cleaner.

ahh thanks, obviously my salesman didn't point that out. He just showed me it and said I had to use this when I fueled up. I wondered why I would have to use a funnel...............duh........I should have thought before I asked. Thanks

Yes, when you fuel up at a service station, the gas nozzle itself, presses against the two little nipples at the inlet to the tank, to allow the inlet flap to unlock.

The plastic funnel, when used to access the tank when not fueling with a standard gas station nozzle, also engages those two inlet nipples which allows the locking flap to open.

As you will only use this funnel periodically, or maybe never, all you have to do, should you have to use it, is rinse it or wipe it before returning to the compartment under the seat and you will have no problems. I have used mine twice for gas additives.

Well look at it this way, at least your salesman showed you the funnel. My delivery consisted of "here's the keys and everything else is in the manual". I saw that funnel the first day and for the life of me couldn't figure out why it was there. I'm pretty sure that I looked in the manual and couldn't find anything about it either but maybe I just didn't look hard enough.

Nope you have to buy the Ford special funnel and it will cost $500......J/K. I think any funnel that is atleast 1/2-3/4" will work.

It should be under the back seat on the driver side. Flip the seat bottom up and look in that tray

Instructions w/diagram, are on the inside of the fuel door on my XLT; however, maybe they thought that was too 'pedestrian' for an owner of a KR?

I figured that would be the case, thanks apparantly they either "forgot" to put it in or someone borrowed it from the truck prior to me buying it. I did get it used so thats very likely
