Default Which front shock/strut?

First post, and yes I searched!

My 2014 FX4 3.5L Ecoboost Screw has just over 100k trouble-free miles and is ready for shocks. My understanding is that the front struts were the same as 2013 models for a brief run, then Ford switched to the newer lower control arm used in the 2015 and up models, so the front struts connected differently.

How do I know which one I have? Here are some pics (bottom one of the strut attachment to the LCA), and thanks in advance for your help!

You have the 2014 type. Not 2013.

Thanks! I ordered Bilstein 4600s that should arrive in a few days. Fingers crossed!

BTW, here's what I enjoy most with my truck...

Truck is bone stock, but I'm assuming you're asking about the Mazda. Never ran a 1/4 mile, but it's set up for Time Trials - timed runs on a road racing course. I finished on the podium at the past two year's SCCA Time Trials Nationals at NCM Motorsports Park in Bowling Green KY, where I ran 1:20 laps on the Grand Full Course. It has a class-legal normally aspirated 2.0L stock block and head, with allowed mods like intake, exhaust, cams, and tuned for running E85, it's putting out 190whp (about 225hp at the crank, ~55hp more than stock) and 146wtq.

Nice Chris!
I've got a similar affliction!!! On Miata.net I'm Wanna1 and have an LS3 NC2 that I call Black Mamba. My F150 serves as tow vehicle for track days. I don't work on minimum time but just having fun pushing (I call in exercising) the car. I still take Mamba on trips (wish I could make the cruise work).

I KNOW YOU and that car!!! "rpmchris" is my handle both here and on miata.net. Owned my 2006 NC1 since brand new in early 2007, and for what I've spent on the motor and drivetrain, "I coulda had a V8!"
