Story of my life. But to the OP, it's not worth having to worry about how your 70k diesel truck is doing while your driving a fuel efficient vehicle! Good thing you haven't deleted/tuned the truck.

When I first started reading I honestly thought it was joke! 100 bucks? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH…. why that's insane! What did your truck cost you again? So they pay you a 100 bucks and a car… that's laughable imo. Someone you don't know driving the heck out of your truck? Perhaps making adjustments you don't want nor need? Again the idea is laughable imo………….. There is way way more risk then reward in what they offered. Suppose it's smacked up but not totaled? Then what? A legal battle as they try and fix it on the cheap?

Run…. run away while saying thanks but no thanks. You won't have a single good night's rest wondering where and what your truck is doing…….. CASE CLOSED!!

I'd be tempted to go for it if Ford put a free Roush exhaust on it. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother.

sorry, but that letter from Ford would go right into the shredder.
They need trucks with some miles on them and for statistical validity they have to be selected at random.

But I would not consent either!

I'm sure that once Toyota saw this online, that's when they decided to get all generous. Otherwise the original "deal" (oh you have to pay the difference) would have stayed.

I got an invite today in the mail. Includes letters from Ford and Roush and a card to send back. Doesn't appear to be fraudulent.

They want to use the truck for 1 to 2 weeks. In return they provide $100; free use of a Fusion (full of fuel); wash, vacuum, and fully fuel the truck (boy is that going to cost them); and exchange of vehicles at my home.

However, once they find out my truck only has 6,700 miles they may not want it. But I am considering doing this (one, I really like the Fusions and would like to drive one for a week or 2).

Has anyone else ever participated in this and what was your experience?
2/14/2024.... This must be an ongoing thing, as I received a similar invite from Roush a month ago. I own a 22 Maverick hybrid.
I accepted the invite, but after filling in the info (online), I saw where they said hybrids would be 2x as long, possibly 6 weeks.
They offered $200, and said there would be full insurance coverage on both vehicles. The "newer loaner" would be an Enterprise sedan.
After submitting the form, and thinking about it, I decided a month and a half without my truck was too long. Enterprise sedans do not have hitches (not allowed), and I would lose the purposes I got a truck for in the first place, for too long a period of time.
I Don't know yet if I've been "selected" as a participant, but if they do, I will tell them I changed my mind.
And, after reading the comments in this forum, I'm hearing/realizing additional reasons besides the inconvenience.
