Default Ford Remote Access Question....

Hey guys,

I have a quick question about the Ford Remote Access modules. I know in the past I've read about it but can't seem to find it again after searching.

I was wondering where I would find the modules hidden under the dash? I have a 2014 Screw FX4 and had the unit installed from the dealer.

Will I find the modules under the passenger side of the dash or the driver's side?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks celltech. My Remote Access has been working intermittently for some time and I read sometimes the pins on the module plugs don't make solid contact with each other and going over terrain can cause an intermittent connection.

Probably not the reason for my issues but it's worth a shot.

Depends on how long ago you installed it. They switched to a OBD2 module a while a go so it may be attached to the AC duct on the drivers side. The older style was connected to the TMPS and was mounted to the passenger side behind the glove box as mentioned above.

I am not sure when they switched over in the states but up here it was about a year and a half ago. Mine is a 13 and I have the one on the drivers side.

Mine is a year old as well (just renewed the annual subscription last week) and it's the older type on the passenger side.
You might pull the side panels off the dash and see which side has a module strapped to the air conditioning duct that goes to the hole in the side panel.

Your truck is a 2014, the remote was installed by the dealer. Sounds to me whatever problem you have should be covered under warranty.

Would they cover this even if it's technically an "after market" product?

I'm a fairly handy guy I rather see what I can do myself first than take a trip to the dealer stealer.

I would think so, it is a Ford accessory. Not Drone or something like that.
