Default Ford ESP plan?

I am thinking about purchasing an ESP plan from Ford. Do you think it is worth it? Extra care 1450.00. I would pay 54.00 a month for 2 years. I did recieve a free 7 year/75k mile power train warranty when I bought the truck. However I am thinking of smaller tech components. Opinions?

I am on the same fence! I am thinking about the premium plan for about 2 grand 7 years 125000 bumper to bumper! The way my life goes is if I don't buy it I will have to pay out 3g's in repairs and if I do buy it I will drive 125000 miles without a need of a repair! I think it makes more sense now a days since there are way to many computers, electronics and modules to go wrong and none of them are normally under 500 bucks. , then we have turbos, and electric steering which will be at least 1500 bucks and now I am reading about failing timing chains, again about 1500 bucks and then of course we also have the HVAC with faulty doors that require moving the dash at a cost of around a grand! Years ago a motor could be bought for 500 bucks and today it is 5 g's along with the tranny's too! If I can swing it and never use it well then that is what it is, but if I can't I am sure I will pay the price down the road. The only thing I have working for me is I am not pounding on miles as it is 2 years old now with 15000 miles.

I bought a 7yr 125k warranty with mine. It really is a matter of personal choice and peace if mind. I can't afford to replace an engine or transmission if one of those things were to go out on me after the factory warranty expires. Plus all the electronics in this truck scares me. I put about 20k on my trucks per year. I wanted it covered for as long as I was paying for it

Yeah, you guys nailed it. There are too many electrical/technology components on these vehicles. You will probably never need it but if you do, having ESP would be a blessing. If you don't and something goes wrong I would be kicking myself in the butt.

I just got the ESP (7 year 75k or something I think? Need to look it up again) on my new '14 Fx4. I am always that person that would pay a little more each month for piece of mind protection especially with all the components in this truck that could go wrong. It's a $52k truck and worth having some piece of mind protection IMO

If I'm not mistaken, an Ecoboost 3.5 engine is over $10,000 (US) to replace.

I had a 2008 Mazda3 that I paid $800 for a bumper to bumper zero deductible 5yr/85,000 mile extended warranty. My lovely wife made sure to tell me what a waste of $ that was. At about 55,000 my transmission went and cost $3,000 to replace. It was completely covered under that extended warranty. If my wife gives me a hard time about buying an extended warranty all to need to say is "Mazda3?".

The warranty we bought for my wife's 07 Tahoe certainly paid for itself

Yeah guys I have to find a new job now so I am hoping to be able to raise the money before this time next year! If I don't get the ESP by then I will be getting rid of it when or about the time the factory warranty is out!

The warranty is worth the price for all of reasons mentioned. Plus I can get a rental car (free of charge)as soon as I drop my truck off which is nice. Plus I think I get free towing if my truck breaks down within a 100 miles of a dealerships. If I am out of town and the truck breaks down, ford covers 3 nights at a hotel.

I am going to re-read my ford esp contract I am correct on that.

I never thought about getting it before since I would trade up every other to 3 years, but now that I am approaching retirement I thought I would keep it till it dies! Before when it needed a new set of tires (1000.00) and the warranty was about up I would just go in and buy a new one.
