Default Ford BakFlip - 2 sets of drain hoses?

Our dealer installed the BakFlip that we had worked into the deal of our new truck but I can't help but wonder if they installed it wrong.

They installed 2 sets of drain hoses - one set up front by the cab and the other at the rear of the bed by the tailgate.

The set up front seems to be just fine and matches the pictures I've seen on here, but the rears are something new to me. The worst part about it is the rear hoses are just hanging down and in the way of the tailgate so they get pinched when I close the door.

I'll try to get a picture taken later but wanted to get the post up early.

Edit to add pictures:

Looking down

You are right, have not seen it with tailgate hoses, but my experience is limited to the one I put on my old Lariat. Is it because you have the long bed?

Thought maybe it had to do with a longer bed but then I saw a picture on a thread recently without them.

I called Bakflip but the engineer wasn't in yet .. I'll call back later and post their response. (Love the truck - thanks!)

If you look at the side of the box right beside the tailgate you will see a plug on each side that pops off. This is where the tube is suppose to be fed thru. If and when water collects in the channels it will drain down the hose and out the side directly onto the road instead of in the box.

sorry, I just noticed that you have something bolted to the dies of the bed that uses the port hole to mount.

You could just plug those holes/hoses and let the water drain through the front tubes. My G2 only has the front hoses and drainage is fine.

I just installed my G2 about a month ago and I'm in the same boat as Sean. I only have drain hoses in the front.

Good luck on getting someone to call you back. I have been waiting for someone to call me and send me stuff to fix my problem for weeks. When I did speak with Ivan (owner I think) he said something about rails like yours but I have no idea why the did this. I think that BAK keeps changing things but I'm not sure they help.

Somewhere in another thread, it stated the Ford accessory hard folding tonneau(made by Bakflip), was spec'd by Ford to have the second set of drain tubes at the rear. A co-worker peeled his tubes off (don't know why), and water pours in the fronts when its raining, trace coming in at the rear. I imagine parked or driving up a grade might have water utililyze the rear drains.
