If a person was to get caught disabling the TPMS, it will be a $25,000 fine. Its a required safety feature on all new vehicles. How do I know this? I too was looking into fooling the system to get summer/winter wheels without buying/programing another set of sensors.

It's worth the extra cash to replace rather than disabling. Just another safety feature that you never know might save your *** one day!!

I personally hate it when I'm out in the sand and I can't tell it to leave me alone.....

Incorrect. I made one "pipe bomb" and pressurized it and tossed all four sensors in it....works like a champ! Also, im the type of person who enjoys doing regular maintenance on my vehicles, so I check air pressure in all four on a regular basis.......

What happens to the sensors in the spare tire if you have to use it? Are they loose and slamming against the rim? I guess you could of duct tape them to the wheel.....

I drove over a screw.. was heading to work.. with in 20miles.. the tires was @ 20psi. by the time I got to work it was @ 15psi. which was 30miles. If I didn't fill it up. it would have been flat. I could have drove home on it. as it was on the pass side and I never see it due to where I park. saved myself from destroying a 20" tire and 20" rim.. could have been an expensive day @ work.

My .02 is to spend the little extra and use this TPMS that I paid for initially with purchase of the truck. I own it. why not use it? It's already paid for itself once.
