Default Fog light question

I have been trying to go through all of the threads about led fog lights and seeing what is compatible with my truck. I have a 2009 f150 fx4. I know the bulbs are 9140 but i have also seen that 9145 would work but they could also be to hot and melt the housing. Is there anyway someone can clarify this for me and give me suggestions on the best led fog light out there, thanks.

Led give off less heat then halogens you should be fine without melting anything

For halogen bulbs the 9140 vs 9145 thing doesn't matter, 9145 is fine to run and they won't get hot enough to make a difference, it only has 5 more watts than a 9140.
The 9005's are the ones you don't want to run in a 9140 housing. They fit, but people have melted their **** doing it.
I'm only talking about halogen bulbs, not LED bulbs. I don't have experience with drop-in LED fog bulbs but most of them suck. You need the full lamp replacements (like the morimoto xb's or JW speaker) if you want a true upgrade.

I apologize if this is a little off topic from OP, but I just ordered a pair of Silverstar 9145 bulbs by mistake (I had a Ranger for 6 years before this truck). Will they work in place of the 9140?

I just ordered the Mark 11 Cree LED fog light replacement from F150LEDs.com.

They are being delivered by USPS, supposed to have been here yesterday, but not.

Default Fog light question

9145/9140--45 watt halogen bulbs. White, amber or yellow...can't go wrong.
Plenty bright enough to match factory hid's without melting the reflector or distorting the lens.

Would you be so kind as to describe the exact lighting setup we're looking at?
I love it.

Sure man. Just the factory hid's, the 'F150 lifts' grill light kit and 'Halo' brand 9145 halogen yellow fogs.
I'm having a hell of a time, finding the Halo's again. So I bought these Nokya fogs as replacements.
The Nokya's are pretty close, side by side. Tried one, just out of curiosity.
I'm going on a year with the Halo's. So, if I can't track them down, I hope I get the same performance from the Nokya's.
Thanks for compliment bud. I appreciate that.
