Default Fire Extinguishers

Due to my profession, I'm keen on fire safety and being prepared. I was wondering where people are mounting their fire extinguishers. I'm looking at a 5 lb ABC extinguisher in my 2013 XLT SCrew. I'm thinking in the bed, driver side with a cover over it.

I'd put the Halon on but keeping that for my garage.

Always had one in my Ranger, havnt done one in the 150 yet, hmmm.
I hate other peeps that have them though.
Long time ago after many many expensive repairs on a 78 Chrysler lebaron lean burner that just kept on breaking,
It went on fire one day, as it coasted to the side of the road I said thank god to myself, I will finally be rid of this POS, Some SOB stopped, pulled out his fire extinguisher and " SAVED " my beloved Chrysler.
You can't really say no, stop, don't put it out in a situation like that.

But I will get one mounted soon, most likely inside driver door on rocker if enuff room

Do the fold down rear seats mod in your screw and put it behind the seats.

Hmm never really thought about it until this thread, I have em in my boat, got a few in the home guess it's time to pony up for another. Probably put it in the cavernous center console.

Get a 10# ext. The 5# will not last long enough. Also, put it somewhere it can be seen. It might be someone else that puts out your fire.

Good point. Ansul 5lb ABCs only discharge for 14 secs and was considering bigger. If I go 10lb, it will have to go in the bed, heavy duty vehicle mount, and a bag cover. Plus maybe a nice decal on the bed rail indicating fire extinguisher here.

The spot next to the funnel(allows access to Jack) under rear seat on drivers side would be a good spot for a smsll one!

I drive a regular cab and have a small ABC rated fire extinguisher mounted in a bracket on the back wall of my cab.

Ive thought about this and am curious to see mounting locations and mount as well as extinguishers. Any concerns about being in freezing temps and not working or malfunctioning?

I read on the label of the one I have that its rated to 50 deg Celsius and good down to -40 deg Celsius. Heres where I mounted mine, its only a 2lb but its better than nothing. Below that is a tray I built that holds with my 700amp power pack, compressor, jumper cables, tools, socket set, gloves, tie downs, tow straps etc
