Default False???? low battery warning message

2011 fx2. Stopped and shut off truck and got a message that the radio etc had been shut off to preserve the Battery. Turned the key back on and got a low battery warning. Turned the key back to off and then back on and all seems to be OK. Never received warning again. Truck has been running OK and starting fine since. Anyone had the same problem?

But why is the message appearing right after driving? It would make sense if it came on after sitting in the truck listening to the radio for an hour. But right after turning off the engine? Bad battery? Bad alternator?

It could depend on how many accessories your running while driving(lights/stereo etc.), and if you're making alot of short trips. Multiple short trips will take longer to recharge the battery than a couple of longer trips.

I hook up a charger to Chester at least once a month.

The security features on our trucks have a habit of draining batteries if you don't drive much.

I haven't driven mine for 2 weeks now and dead batteries SUCK !!!

Just took the charger off, as a matter of fact.

Happened to me too, last week. Went to work and it was fine; Going home it came on, while on the road. Went in to the post office (turned off the truck) came back out, then it was fine.

Hate to bring this old thread back up but has anyone had this happen? This morning after a 40min drive to work I park kill truck and right away the message battery saver turn off ignition come across radio. Turn key back on and big battery light on dash. Truck cranks fine. Usually I can listen to radio for 30mins before opening door and never seen this message. I have a 2013 f150 ecoboost with 10000 miles on her. Several months old. I recently installed a escort max radar and turn it off or it turns off byitself in 1 hour. The power cord does have a little light that stays lit. I like listening to radio in the parking lot with truck not running. And with the feature it turns off radio. Sucks but I guess its a good thing if my battery is really going dead. Strange for a new truck and new battery. ...

any thoughts? Thx

Doesn't make sense...I left my parking lights on overnight (12 hours). I had no battery saver messg and it cranked right up.

mine has done the same thing 2-3 times, not sure why because the truck had plenty of charge in it (I know that because I have a meter in my truck all the time due to its other issues) anyway I just ignore it and the next day its fine. its probably been 6+ months since its done it now.

When I had my oil change a few months back by Ford, the service guy asked me if I have had problems with starting the truck, I said no and asked why, he said my battery was reading low. Haven't checked it and I haven't had problems but I am curious to know what's going on. I have to check my amplifier to see if it stays on after I shut the truck off.
