Factory Remote Start does not work
OK, just got my truck back from the dealer to have the hard shift 1-2/2-1 looked at. They cleared the memory and reprogrammed. However the next day I went to use the Remote Start and it's not working... I don't get any response from the truck, no light flash or initial beeps/horn.
Anyone had this issue? I don't see anything in the manual. I should state (not that is should matter) but I don't keep the remote start FOB on my keyring, it hangs on the hook in the house. I'm assuming they don't need to be near the key or standard FOB to work correct?
I'll be calling the dealer as well, just thought I'd check here first in case it was an easy fix/reset.
Thanks

that's strange there's no response at all from your remote. did you try both fobs that came with the rmst?
the only thing I can suggest to try first is to reprogram the remotes to the system. The instructions are on page 7 of your remote start owner's guide (if they even gave you one with your truck). Or I can post them here. Most likely they did not mount the black programming button for your system and you'll have to find it along the wiring harness for the rmst system - look up under the driver's side of the dash for the brain unit of the system.

1. Turn vehicle ignition on.
2. Press and hold in the brake pedal.
3. Press and hold programming/override button under the instrument panel.
After 15 seconds, the horn will chirp three (3) times. This indicates that the unit
has entered the remote control programming mode. The brake pedal can be
released at this time.
4. Release the programming/override button.
5. Press the rmst button on the remote control to be programmed.
The horn will sound once, indicating that the system has “learned” that remote
control.
6. Repeat step 5 for any additional remote controls.
7. Turn the vehicle ignition off to exit the programming mode. Test all remote
