The 6.7 diesel is actually rated at 730 lb/ft, but close enough.
I was considering one of those acutally, but with the $50-$60K price tag, I'll go with a new '10 F-150 for half the price for a few years until there are some used F-250's out there.

Hello all, I'm a new member. I have a question or two...
I have a 2005 F-150 screw, dark stone metallic (monotone), 4.6L, 2wd.
I got rid of the oem 255/70-17 Conticraps at 6800 miles. Just couldn't take the tiny donut tires anymore. Had to do alot of honeydo's for my wife...you know. I replaced them w 265/70-17 BFG radial long trails - larger and slightly more aggressive. I didnt want to go too aggressive and end up with a louder and harsher ride on a brand new $28,000 truck, and have to "hear it" from my wife. I'm sure some of you can understand.
Now that you have my background, here is my issue...
I only have about 35,000 miles on the BFGs, but of course I'm ready for a larger and more aggressive tires. (I was ready 10,000 miles into them). I like the 4x4 off road look, but I know I drive a 4x2. I don't think I want to level the front, so 285s are probably too big, and I think an aggressive BFG AT KO wouldn't look right on a 2wd.
I'm thinking a 275/70-17, possibly Goodyear AT Extreme or Silent Armor. There aren't too many choices in that size. Any advice???

I know it's a long post, but I thought I'd lay it all out...

Thanks, in advance...

2009/2010 f-150 doesn't have reclining back seat but it does fold up and fold down flat. Only thing I would add is go for the 5.4L. The fuel mileage difference is negligible and you'll get the extra money back at resale.

Rob,

Welcome to the site.

Rather than replying to someone else's post about something unrelated (which hasn't been updated in 5 months), you'll get far more response from starting your own.

You'll also get more appropriate info in the correct forum. This one is for discussion of '09 and up models.

Enjoy the forum and your truck.

I drove my 1998 f150 with NO problems (besides the cruise control recall ) for 8 years. The chevys brag up that 4 to 8 cylinder engine... but if you drive at any speeds above 55, or accelerate faster than a grandpa, it's in 8 cyl. anyway! It's overengineered, and believe it will just add one more thing to go wrong on them!
I've never owned a G.M. truck but, I have owned three G.M. cars. The same problem with all three, intake manifold gaskets leaking oil and coolant in all three before 55k miles. Friend that ownes a 96 Tahoe same problem. Not to mention shi__y alternators, ac compressors, crappy interior trim and faulty electrics. Only thing good about G.M. is the small block chevy v8, and I'm sick to death of seeing that lump trown into every other street rod at a car show. I'd love to own a corvette, but at $50k and having to buy tires 24K miles at about $1800.00 a set no thanks. And I bet the new camaro in the current form won't be around very long either because of poor ergonomics just like the las generation. **** on government motors!

Silverado has so much wrong with it I don't know where to start. The frame around the engine is almost non-existant, and it uses rear disk brakes to start with. So forget about towing and braking at the same time.

come on dude, about 3 years ago that was the plan but that has not been the plan for a long time. and keep in mind, when the Titan first came out, it stomped just about everyone, now it's a 7 year old design and everyone else has newer. Nissan is redesigning the Titan in house and will be building it in TN just like they do now.

In 2006 my 2000 Ranger was hit and I was given a brand new Ext. Cab Chevy Silverado rental to drive around in from the insurance company while the Ranger was being repaired. I liked the Ranger, but it was 2wd and it was small. The Chevy was a mansion in comparison and being brand new I was just in love. I realized if I liked the Chevy this much that I HAD TO check out an F-150. By the time my Ranger was fixed 2weeks later, I returned the Chevy, and traded the Ranger in for a brand new 2007 F-150. And I have never looked back!

And that's how driving a nice Chevy led me to an even nicer Ford.

one thing that bothers me driving the newer chevys beside the crappy ride, terrible interior and wind noise along with 1000 other reasons is the seating position. it feels like i sit too low in the cab or the windows are up too hi or something, it just feels weird, like im in a car instead of a truck. BTW, Im 6'1" so im not short by any means. when i drive my F-150 and even my ranger i feel like i have a much better field of view and i sit up taller in the cab.
