Default F150 vs Silverado

So I just got my truck (2012 F150 scab 8' bed XL 8200 gvw 5.0 4x4) back from the body shop after two weeks.I have had a 2013 Silverado scab short bed ls 7000 gvw 5.3 4x4 as an insurance rental.
This is my take on the two trucks,
Chevy has a better sounding exhaust, nice deep rumble for a stock exhaust, and....................nothing else.
My Ford with 1200 lb more gvw and LT tires gives a better ride, it has a longer wheel base but still.
The cab of the Chevy seems small, my daughter pointed that out.
The mirrors on the Chevy are terrible.
The seats are not as comfortable as my Ford, my wife pointed that out.
The Chevy seemed to use a lot more fuel but I didn't have it long enough too tell.
Unless you are accelerating hard the Chevy falls on its face when it shifts from 1st to 2nd.
Back seat has a lot more room in the Ford.
I almost bought a Silverado before I bought the F150, now I really have no regrets.

Yup. I agree with pretty much everything here. My previous truck was a 2009 Chevy Silverado Z71 LT with the 5.3 and 4 speed. and even my mom pointed out that yesterday my F-150 rides so much nicer. After 2 months of ownership and a slew of problems that GM didn't give a **** about, I started to hate everything about that truck. It was sluggish, had a really tough time towing our boat, and the interior sucked. I will say that the rear end felt a little bit more planted on the Chevy though, and the auto 4x4 was a huge selling feature for me. That rear end jitter and reverb bugs me about the F150.

I've always said if you want a show pony you buy a Chevy, if you want a workhorse you buy a Ford. With that said, when the current Chevy body style came out I thought it was ugly but I also thought that about the 09 f150s when they first hit the streets. I traded in my 09 silverado for my 12 fx4 screw and have no regrets, the f150 is a far superior truck in every category.

I agree. I have never looked back and I am reassured of that now that the 2014 GM trucks are out. Ford won me over with a superior product.

We have 4 Chevy trucks at work. 00'-1500 rclb, 10'-2500hd cclb, 11'-1500 rclb, 11'-2500hd rclb and they are crappy riding, ugly plasticy interiors, small cabs.. I can't really get in the back of the cclb(6'3" w/ size 13 feet) rear door doesn't open very far and is even smaller space with our window rack on the trucks. They all get horrible gas mileage. I'm so happy at the end of the day when I get into my f150 and drive away!

My sister has a 2011 Escalade ESV. I had to drive it a few times but compared to my truck, it just doesn't compare driveability wise. It does sound amazing with that rumble but feels gutless under 2000 rpm. The seats aren't as comfortable as the F150 either, and it has such a thin rimmed steering wheel.

I like to think my F150 is both a show pony and work horse. I've also liked the way F150s have looked for a while, even the older body styles. I'm really glad I got mine despite all the Ford hate from the millions of Chevy owners.

I told the GMTC community that I was getting an ecoboost and most of them agreed with my decision. All opinions aside, the Ford is factually the better truck, and they know it.
