F150 Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 install
Hello. I am new here; I wanted to say hello and show off my tablet installation.
I wanted a tablet for nav and Pandora, but I didnt want to modify the truck too much. So I came up with a mount for the dash tray that I never used. I found the Galaxy Tab 2 on sale for $175, so I have less than $200 in the whole project.
The mount consists of two pieces of 1x2 MDF and some aluminum channel. The hardest part was making the tablet slide into the mount while on the charger. I routed the USB cable down inside the dash to a charging adapter by the Sync inputs.
The tablet connects to the truck via Bluetooth.
Anyway, enjoy the pictures!

Nice work! Very clean. Now your challenge is to make it slide down out of sight like an Aston Martin screen..ooh.

Very slick! Doing it that way would allow me to retain my FX matrix dash rather than buy a metra or other dash kit. Are the icons legible from the drivers seat? It would be awesome if it could be hinged and fold down.

I dont find it hard to see them. And you could customize them to be larger.
With about 20 minutes more work, I could have made it fold back. Just would have needed to radius the bottom of the mdf and use some angle brackets with a bolt as the pivot point.
