Default Exhaust question

So, I have the 5.4. I had "screaming loud" exhaust on my last truck. And now I want quieter but still noticeable. I really want a deep throaty rumble. How would one go about achieving said goal? What intake, exhaust? Headers? Open for ideas

I have the 5.4 2010. Just cut off the factory muffler and replace it with a 24in magnaflow and weld it in place using your factory pipe. It sounds great and not very loud! Get the 24in not the 18.

I might do that. How much did the 24 inch run you?

I've got a flowmaster 40 series muffler with magnaflow high flow cats. Love the sound, the cats really improved it!

Hey tebezic, I paid 200 bucks for the 24 in magnaflow and that included the install. Sounds great not to loud at all. Make sure it's not a magnaflow knock off. I started out with a 18 in magnaflow at another shop and they told me 130 bucks installed, they brought out a magnaflow knock off called a flo-pro. I questioned them about it, got talked into it and changed it out a week later for the 24in magnaflow. Sorry typing this on my phone.
