I want to thank everyone for their replies and especially IrishJoe as you seemed to have nailed it. We dug up our paperwork and was promised a new rear window because the old window had a defect in it. We even found the old pictures off the cell phone of the defect in the exact same spot, good call and thank you for the help.

Off to see the dealer in the morning

Let me know what you heard from the dealership, Twinkies. Shoot me a PM with your info (VIN, dealer, mileage, daytime phone number, and full name) if you need me to assist.

Glad to see it worked out. It definitely looks like a "ruptured" repair.

It seems like an odd place for damage, but there have been other posts on here showing bad dealer touch ups in that exact location. Maybe it happens in transport?
