Default Ever have your screen go blank?

Mine didn't technically go blank on me but the other day I drove home from work and stopped at a grocery store before going home. Everything was working fine when I parked it at the store. When I came out and started it up my screen was completely blank and nothing would work. I started heading to the dealership nearby to ask them when all of the sudden it started lighting up. Within a minute it gave me some message about standing by while updates are completed. Really? Come on Ford. I don't mind the updates but how about a little warning before it happens.

Yep and I think it's only happened once. I too was getting ready to drive to the dealer when it just starting working again.

Must be a system wide thing. Mine just did the same today. Started the truck, the screen was black, and I thought crap. Then it popped up with the scheduled maintenance thingy.

Mine did the same. Started the truck and went to blank screen. I shut it down and got the updating message. After a couple minutes it was back up and running.

Hi, everyone -

Do you know which software version you're running? I'd like to make sure it's the latest (3.6.2).

To find out, log in to your www.Support.Ford.com account, click on UPDATE SYNC SOFTWARE from the right side of the page.

If 3.6.2 is available, you can download it to any empty USB that's at least 2GB and isn't password-protected. Otherwise, you can send me a PM with your VIN and I'll take a look.

mine has done that 3-4 times in the past year. It's a computer, it needs to update once in a while.

Understood. Just wish it would give you a warning before it happens.

Updates aren't possible without downloading them to USB to my understanding.
