Unless there is an indicator of low fuel on the dash or the fuel gauge shows below empty this shouldn't be happening. My last Ford also did this when there was 1/4 tank or less, but I had dual tanks so switching kept me going. I have since had two Chevrolets, one Toyota, and one Dodge, and none of them died on uneven ground when I had a low fuel condition, and all had a single tank.

I agree that the easy fix is to keep more fuel in the tank, but I also agree that this is a safety issue. Suppose you are stuck in the snow on a not too severe decline and run low on fuel? Now your truck won't run? Weak..

Fundamental problem here is gravity. the pickup tube for fuel tanks are dead center and if you run so low that you stall out on an incline,.....Don't let your tank run that low.

Someone already stated a very WELL known fact that the fuel acts as a coolant for the electric pump in tank. The owners manual might even say something to that fact but I'm unsure. What I am sure of is I learned that tidbit of info when I went to school for Ford.

If your too poor to keep at least 1/4 tank in your truck, sell it and buy a Prius.

I wonder where the fuel pickup is in the Raptor?

I can see it now - new TSB "All off roader's are to keep their fuel tanks at least 1/3 full while on steep terrain to avoid stalling."

So just how much sense does this thread make? To me they need either multiple fuel pickup locations at the bottom of the tank or a distribution system that will allow for fuel pickups throughout the bottom of the tank with a self priming pump.

RUNNING OUT OF FUEL
Avoid running out of fuel because this situation may have an adverse
effect on powertrain components.
If you have run out of fuel:
You may need to cycle the ignition from off to on several times after
refueling to allow the fuel system to pump the fuel from the tank to
the engine. On restarting, cranking time will take a few seconds longer
than normal.
Normally, adding 1 gallon (3.8L) of fuel is enough to restart the
engine. If the vehicle is out of fuel and on a steep grade, more than
1 gallon (3.8L) may be required.
The service engine soon indicator may come on. For more information
on the service engine soon indicator, refer to the Instrument Cluster
chapter.
See Settings in the Instrument Cluster chapter for information on
calculating DTE (Distance to empty).
Refilling With a Portable Fuel Container
WARNING: Do not insert the nozzle of portable fuel containers
or aftermarket funnels into the Easy Fuel® system. This could
damage the fuel system and its seal, and may cause fuel to run onto the
ground instead of filling the tank, which could result in serious personal
injury.
WARNING: Do not try to pry open or push open the Easy Fuel®
system with foreign objects. This could damage the fuel system
and its seal and cause injury to you or others.
With the Easy Fuel® “no cap” fuel system, use the following directions
when filling from a portable fuel container:
When filling the vehicle’s fuel tank from a portable fuel container, use the
funnel included with the vehicle.
