Default Engine Options-Help From Current Owners Please!

I am looking at a 09+ f150 and need some opinions from current owners as I have owned many diesels but not a gasser I quite a while.

Between the 5.0 (or other V8s offered if any) and the ecoboost what real-world fuel mileages are people seeing?

Are there any guys with a lot of miles on these trucks with either engine (150-200k+) and how are they holding up? I put on a minimum of 30k a year so longevity is important.

Any input it appreciated! Thanks!
-Mike

My 5.0 is mostly town and hill driven ( hills not mountains) and I'm lucky to avg 15. On a hwy only trip 75mph I get about 18.5.

I had a 2010 XLT super crew 4x4 with a 4.6 3v V8 and put 260,000 trouble free miles on it. Lot of highway and oilfield roads and had a lifetime average of 18 mpg.

I have 48K on my EB. Only issue was the misfire at WOT. Changed the plugs to the new 2013 version and its fixed.

Drove the 5.0 and to me it does not have nearly as much power.

I get 16 City and 21 to 27 Hwy (depends on conditions, hills or flat etc).
I have 10 ply heavy tires and a 3.73 rear, SC, 4X4.

I treat it well and change the oil every 7500 using Synthetics that meet the Ford EB specs.

Love this truck. WAY better in all aspects than my 2009 Tundra Rock Warrior.

5.0 with 3.73 gears here and I have a liftetime average of 16.5 (hand calculated) over 10k miles.

I can get 19.5 on a straight shot highway run at 70mph during the summer (winter blend fuel wont get up that high).

City mpg is right around 14-15 as the sticker says. You will find the 5.0 is close to the EPA sticker averages. From what I have read around here (and I did lots of reading because I was leaning toward an EB), the EB can really be all over the place, but cumulative average is right in line with the 5.0.

Check out fuelly.com and look at user averages there.

I love my 2010 with my 5.4, in 33,000 miles its averaged 17.1 mpg. I know the 5.4 is an older platform and had its troubles but they all do, the plus side is all the troubles are worked out now, I figure I have the best 5.4 Ford made.
