Default Engine opinions?

Ok, so I plan on buying a 2014 Ford F150 screw fx4 sometime next year. I'm thinking of getting the 6.2l option, and I was wondering if anybody has had any issues with this engine in their truck. If you could tell me any information about it? Any issues from it? Pros/cons? MPG? Power/torque? All information would be greatly appreciated!

I don't think the full engine line up has released for 2014 as of yet. I don't expect a change but you never know.

If you plan to work the truck the 6.2 might be worth considering But if all you want is bragging rights [Mine is bigger than yours] you will pay a price in handling. and mileage while the 6.2 is a fairly modern engine it is bound to go the way of the dinosaur in a 1/2 ton truck. if you have to have a V8 the 5.0 is a better choice if you want torque+ economy choose the 3.5 and if you want a good reliable daily driver and don't plan to tow or haul heavy the3.7 will impress you. decisions/ decisions.

A simple search came up with.....

6.2 V8 mileage

Anyone else curious why the 6.2 is not a major point of conversation?

I just ordered a 5.0. I was considering the 6.2 but, ended up on the former. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the 6.2 the small engine in the Super Duty?

Well, yes, but it has less power ratings so it can tow it's rated weight. Also, you can get a 6.2L Superduty for less than what you can get a 6.2L in an F150 even in the Platinum trim. It would be kind of idiotic to get a 6.2L in an F150 if you were using it for utility reason. That would be like paying more for less.

What do you think the chances are that Ford ever offers a diesel in the F150?

I personally think the 5.0 is a great happy medium between power and fuel efficiency.

This is true. It is a happy medium between fuel economy and power for a V8.
