electricity failure in dashboard
hello everyone, I have a 2012 F150 platinum version and recently I noticed that If I go over a speed hump with a speed higher that 20 m/h the whole dashboard restarts and if goes black for 2 to 3 seconds. this also happens if I am driving and there is a whole in the road the same thing happens and the dash board goes black for 3 seconds then it restarts again. Can you please advice me what is likely to be the problem and how to fix it? thnx a lot
It could be a couple of things. If I remember correctly there is a harness connector for the instrument panel behind the dash. Perhaps the lock on the connector is not snapped in completely. Also, there is a ground connection under the dash on the left side by the A pillar. I believe that is for the instrument cluster as well. Start there. It sounds like somethings loose. The only other thing I can think of is to find the fuse in the panel that powers the cluster and make sure that there isn't an issue with it. Perhaps not seated correctly or the socket is spread apart a bit, in my 2013 it's fuse #11.

The dash makes its main electrical connections by 3 connectors to the BCM on the passenger side kick panel. I would pull the panel and check those connectors. I can send you a photo of what they look like later today
