I'm a firm believer in them. They benefit differently in different applications. My last truck with a SVT Lightning power plant it was a must. The oil would gather and stick to the intercooler in the lower manifold and cause it to be less effective and oil mixed with gasoline lowers the octane rating. So when your pushing a stock block hard stopping any possible problem causing issue is a must to keep it together.

With that being said. Does the Eco "NEED" it, can't say cause I have never been around the engine to see how the PCV system actually works on it.

I have one on my 5.0L, is it needed? Probably not! Does it do its job by catching oil getting into the intake system? Hell yeah!

I'm extremely **** about my vehicles and I will do everything possible to make it run perfect for years and years.

There is a huge thread on here about them on Ecos and from my readings some find that it catches a lot due to the design of the PCV system and has cured the stubble that plenty Ecos get.

Personally I would. That's just my 2 pennies!

I'm far from a expert about them but if you want to ask me any questions feel free to PM me and we can have a adult conversation about them. Catch can topics seam to get heated on this forum.

This is from my 5.0L which seam to benefit less from them than a Eco but gives you more to read.

Also search for Joe@UPR he had a lot of great info about them. And over the last few months plenty of advances in there design!

If I do decided to get one. Do I have to cut any hoses to install it?
^Anybody? Do you still need to put holes into the snorkel pipes?
