Thinking of getting a new plow truck. I was thinking the Ecoboost would be good because of the awesome torque. But my question is how would the suspension hold up and how about the transmission?

get a f 250 if you plan to plow a lot.

I know the 6.2 steering is hydraulic but i want to say my manual said not to put one on an F-150 period...because I remember thinking that was just another way for them to push the Super Duty...

I already have an f250 with a 7.3L Powerstroke and a plow. I wanted an f150 just because it would be quieter than the 250 (some of my customer don't like the roar of the diesel outside they're houses at 3 A.M. LOL) and more it'd be nibble in smaller places. But yeah didn't even think of the electronic steering and the intercooler.... Damn. Lol.

If you do just put two big deep cycle bartteries for the plow in the bed and keep them seperate from the electrical system on your truck. If you get real fancy you could connect them to the trailer plug so when you are driving down the road the batteries would charge and when plowing unplug it and run the plow only off the batteries. No difference to the trucks electrical system than hooking up a 5th wheel or TT.

They don't like the sound of a diesel outside their house at 3:00 AM?? I do not hear the diesels of our municipalities snow plows. If anything - the plow is what makes the noise- especially when they aree taking out a mailbox or two. There is no way to plow and not make noise.
