Default Ecoboost question

Long time Ford driver, first time poster:

Just bought a 2013 F 150 4x4 Ecoboost (Kodiak Brown) and I love almost everything about it. Almost...

The one thing that really puts me off of this truck is the huge gap-toothed looking smile of the front bumper. The 2 - 3 foot gap for the air intake. So my question is this:

How do you guys deal with it?

Bull Bar to hide?

Some kind of mesh screen I dont know about?

Just deal with it?

Please help guys, this is driving me crazy.

I got same truck as you and feel the same way. Your gonna get both sides to this debate, those that say its ok to cover it up with a grill and no effects to CAC and others that say leave it open that what its there for. I would like to fill in the whole, I was looking at a WagnerTuning grill with cross pattern,it looked simple to install. I think it will let the air thru but at least be some protection from birds, rocks, paperbags, bugs and debris from flying in there and causing any damage to the IC. Keep in mind FORD doesnt recomend anything at all covering the space and could be used against you if problems arise with engine. If you do cover, I would recommend taking it off before taking to dealer for any service work. Thats what im gonna do. JMHO!!!

If I did put a bull bar/grille guard on it, it would have to be one with wide/open slots as to not restrict air flow, but I dont think its living up to its full potential visually with that open wound in the front.

search ebay for "f150 lower grill insert" and don't pay more than $50 shipped.

Or put anything there you want there, including a winch, after you add a Full Race IC/CAC.

I put a black billet bar grille there, looks so much better. it also helps protect the CAC.

Checked it out. They only had one for like 99 bucks. Know of any online shops that have them stocked?

Also is it safe to assume that a 2012 would fit on a 2013 model? Should be the same size right?

Thanks for the help.
